Galaxy Gaming Approved to Install Its Table Game Products in West Virginia
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 21, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Galaxy Gaming, Inc. (OTCBB:GLXZ), announced today that it has received a gaming license from the West Virginia Lottery Commission permitting the Company to install its table game products and systems into West Virginia casinos. Galaxy Gaming's products and systems are now being submitted by sponsoring casinos to the Lottery Commission for approval. Table games were first approved for West Virginia casinos beginning in 1997, with the most recent voter approval for Charles Town last December. As a result there are now five existing casinos approved to offer table games. Three of those have announced significant expansion plans bringing the estimated total number of gaming tables to over 300 this year.
Nina Rieger, Regional Sales Manager for Galaxy Gaming reported she was delighted with the approval. "I was intrigued by the calls we received from West Virginia casino operators beginning early last year. With only two other table game manufacturers approved there, the casinos were looking forward to Galaxy Gaming getting a license, as to broaden the selection of available table games."
Robert Saucier, Galaxy Gaming's Chief Executive Officer noted, "First of all, I want to thank the West Virginia Lottery Commission and particularly their professional and cordial staff for their supportive cooperation during the approval process. Even though West Virginia is generally not considered a major casino table game market compared to other gaming jurisdictions, the casino operators there have been extremely enthusiastic about incorporating our products, platforms and systems into their table game operations."
West Virginia's neighboring states of Pennsylvania and Ohio recently approved the expansion of table games, putting additional pressure on West Virginia as well as Atlantic City casinos. Commenting on these recent developments, Galaxy's Mr. Saucier added, "Although the increased competition may affect existing gaming operations, the expansion of legalized gaming into the neighboring jurisdictions bodes well for our company. We look forward to a long and extremely prosperous relationship with the gaming operators in that region of the country."
