Galaxy Gaming Opens World-Class Data Center
LAS VEGAS, Dec. 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Galaxy Gaming, Inc. (OTCBB:GLXZ), revealed to investors attending the LD Micro Conference last Thursday in Los Angeles, that it has officially began operating its Global Data Center. The Data Center will be used to collect and process data from casino gaming tables worldwide and is a major component to accomplishing Galaxy Gaming's goal of connecting live table games to a globally distributed data operations center. The Company also revealed that this accomplishment was made possible as the result of a technology business relationship with Amazon Web Services, a subsidiary of Amazon.com.
"As of last week, all systems are fully functional and we expect to be ready to beta test our first field installation in a casino within two weeks," stated Dan Evans, Technology Development Manager for Galaxy Gaming. "We have devised a way to capture valuable information at the gaming tables using our Bonus Jackpot System (BJS) and then securely communicate that information to our Global Data Center. Kudos to Amazon, who really has their technology act together and made the entire design process painless for us."
The Data Center is designed to work with an upcoming release of the Company's BJS system, code-named "Andromeda Series." Once installed, the Andromeda Series, in concert with the new Data Center, will allow Galaxy Gaming to link gaming tables in multiple casinos and cruise ships throughout the world, which in turn is expected to create the largest and fastest growing jackpots in table game history.
Commenting on these accomplishments, Robert Saucier, Galaxy's CEO said, "Huge 'life-altering' jackpots have benefited the slot industry for decades. Now, we will be able to offer a similar experience to table game players. However, the Andromeda Series is a lot more than just about generating huge jackpots, but you'll have to wait until we release it to see what it can really do. Combining the functionality of our new Data Center with the Andromeda Series moves us one giant step closer towards our vision of revolutionizing the table game industry."
